Ryan Akerley is a landscape painter based in Salt Lake City. He has always been intrigued, and inspired by the natural world. Exploring, learning, and experiencing the awe of the nature first hand, has led him to want to share this appreciation with others. His current work focuses on the intricacies of the land, and the natural processes and forces that combine to create our environment. Through study and practice he re-creates the landscape, following the movements and shapes of the earth. Utilizing broad abstract marks to create fine details, dramatic images unfold for the viewer to examine and explore.
